鳥インフルエンザで新たな死者、110人目インドネシア

インドネシアのスパリ保健相は今月初頭に鳥インフルエンザに感染した犠牲者の発生を迅速に発表せず、
半年ごとに公表すると言っていたのになぜか今回素早い報告がなされている。それにしても110人とは
かなり多い。発症した人が135人くらいなので致死率の高さは相当なものである。

Robert Newbery, poultry adviser at the National Farmers' Union, said avian flu was still a serious economic and animal welfare concern - but the level of risk was quite different compared to that in countries like Indonesia and Vietnam. "The systems in which poultry are kept in south-east Asia are completely unrecognisable compared to the UK," he said.

インドネシアやベトナムはイギリスなんかと違って家禽がしっかり管理しきれていないということなのかな。
実際、感染している国と地域を見る限りではそうなのだろうけど。ウイルスが登場する前から同じような生活を
してきているのだから一朝一夕に変えることは難しいのだろう。
