THE OLD READERディスク障害

Google Readerが完全に終了してしまった。6月から並行運用していたThe Old Readerで
ある程度目処がついてきたと思っていたら、最近頻繁にSorryPageが出て作業頻度が高いと
感じていたら障害が発生したとのこと。Sad Newsといわれてもちょっと。

After storage migration that we performed on Saturday our database servers started experiencing much higher load and it looks like this resulted in multiple SSD drive failures on several servers at the same time. Unfortunately some of those servers were part of the same database shards, so we lost some of the data.We have started restoring data from our latest backup, and we will then be applying incremental changes since the time that backup got made to ensure that the database is in the most consistent state possible.

複数のSSDドライブに障害が起きてデータが消失したとか結構凄いことが書かれている。
リストアしてもらえれば1週間程度であれば許容範囲内である。それよりも復旧までに
かなり時間がかかりそうだし、これまで以上にメンテナンスが多くなりそうなので
先行きが不安になってきた。


最悪の場合は、一緒に移行しておいたFeedlyとDiggReaderの2本柱で頑張るしかなさそうである。
DiggReaderも悪くはないのだけど、余白の大きさと文字のバランスが少し微妙。複数のリーダー
から読み散らかしているので、後で読もうと思っていたものがどこにあるのか探すのが面倒な
事態が起きていたりする。
